Kelly Wilkinson (President)
Recently retired in January 2021 after 35 years of service, I embarked on a career as a Voice Over Actor/narrator and already have 40 books produced out on Audible. When I am not narrating, I volunteer as a Crisis TextLine Counselor and a House Manager  for the Harris Performing Center in Folsom. To stay fit, as part of the Capital Crew Masters, I row at Lake Natomas regularly, walk daily, practice yoga and pilates on my reformer.

Michelle Nelson (Treasurer)
Time flies when you’re having fun and that’s what I’ve tried to do since I retired in 2015.  I’ve traveled to visit friends and family, taken cruises, walked the Primitivo route of the Camino de Santiago.  When I’m home, my daily routine is hiking, biking and/or playing golf.  Anyone who asks about retirement, my response is that it’s highly recommended.

Debbie Semenick (Director)
I retired in 2011 after 41 years of service – all of which was in Human Resources.  I joined the Contra Costa Chapter of the CRA right after retirement and have been on that Board of Directors ever since.  I also belong to the East Bay and San Francisco Chapters.  In 2017 I became the National Secretary of the CRA, an assignment that has given me the opportunity to meet and know people from all over the country.  I am the Chair of the Architectural Review Committee and Chair of the Board of Directors of my homeowner’s association.  Some of my favorite hobbies are walking, traveling, and reading – and I can’t wait to start traveling again!

A few words from Tom and Linda Patrick...
To all our Chevron Retiree friends, we hope we are all on the other side of the pandemic, and hope this finds you all well! Unfortunately, Tom had a partial hip replacement in November and Stage 4 prostate cancer was discovered. Treatment and recovery are going well, but he has a way to go. In the midst of this, our landlady of 27 years told us she was selling our house. So, we scrambled and found a cute house to buy just 5 minutes away. So, packing up all our stuff has been an excruciating experience, but we have survived!

Tom was downsized into early retirement from Chevron Credit Card Dept. in Concord in 1995 after 27 years. He and Linda joined the Sacramento Chapter of Chevron Retirees shortly thereafter. There were so many people at those luncheons, you had trouble finding a seat if you were late!  Linda was A Kindergarten teacher until 2006, and would always “play hooky” on luncheon days!

Linda was elected Secretary in 2012, and Tom became President in 2014. Linda also became Newsletter Editor in 2017. So, the two of them have given many combined years to this chapter!  Unfortunately, chapter membership was declining before the pandemic. Then, with the pandemic, things came to a halt!

Tom and Linda miss you all and wish Kelly, Karla and Michelle much luck in revitalizing the Sacramento chapter!  They just may see you sometime down the road!

A message from Sybille Bateman...
Finally, some good news in the Bateman household. My great-grandson Ollie was born on April 8th this year. Unfortunately I am not able to travel right now to Phoenix or anywhere else until my body gets a little better (bum right knee and back-pain) which many of you suffer from as well. My youngest son and wife are already there and are sending me pictures.

I am looking over 2 estimates from my pediatrician and am still waiting for the surgeon's estimate. Looks like May will be the date to remove Prince's bladder stones, so I will not be able to attend my youngest grand-daughter's college graduation in San Diego. If I ever get another dog I will most definitely buy health insurance.

I am booked on Regents Cruise to the Mediterranean including Israel this October unless they cancel again. More on that as time gets closer.
Hope all of you can send some stories to our new Newsletter Editor.
