Members: Who's Doing What?

Global Affiliates Area Vice President Jerry Jackson and wife Shelia of Pascagoula, MS along with local CRA Singing River Chapter members participated in Rotary District 6840, Sleep In Heavenly Peace Bed Build Project

Jerry and Shelia joined in with local CRA Singing River Chapter members for Rotary District 6840 Bed Build Project with Sleep In Heavenly Peace, Jackson County, MS to build 50 beds for kids needing a bed.  Sleep In Heavenly Peace goal is no kids sleep on the floor.  Through the work of volunteers, 55 beds were built.  120 volunteers worked together for the Project success, a great example of the CRA and Rotary working together for a common cause.  The Project included a pre-build on September 12th in which 5000 lbs. of lumber was cut to length with the Bed Build Project the following week on September 19, 2026.

Loutrelle Chesser of Richmond Hill, Georgia

My husband, Bill Chesser passed away in February of 2024.  Since then, I have lived with my daughter and her husband in Richmond Hill, Georgia. They take me often to visit my home in Folkston.  I have made some wonderful Christian friends at the church where my daughter attends. My son lives down the street at an assisted living facility and is doing well. I enjoy reading the newsletter to stay informed about other retirees.  God has blessed me immensely with good health even though I have endured many falls. He has brought me back stronger than before. At 94, I can’t possibly hope for more.

New CRA Member Joe (Val) Watterson of Gary, South Dakota

Spent the first years of retirement renovating our current garage so that we could park two vehicles as well as installing a bathroom.  Now that the work year has passed, we are enjoying playing pickleball and golf as often as possible.  After retirement, we moved from California to South Dakota to be closer to my wife’s family and save a little on taxes.

David (Kelly) Wanninger of Evansville, Indiana

At 76, I am still working fulltime as an engineer. We just bought a second home in Florida to get away from the Indiana weather for a month or tow during the winter. Maybe I will run across some Texaco or CRA Global Affiliates retirees there.

New CRA Member Evan (Amy) McGreevy of Corvallis, Oregon

Hi, my wife and I both retired from Chevron on April 1, 2026. We have moved to Corvallis, Oregon. My sister is an instructor at Oregon State University, and I spent a good part of my youth living in Oregon. We now have more time to continue our non-work pursuits? Amy is still running and has moved her horse up to a barn near our home. I am doing house projects and riding mountain bikes. Our home is up the hill above Corvallis, adjacent to the OSU McDonald-Dunn Research Forrest. Every day I wake up in the woods feeling thankful for my career at Chevron.

New CRA Member Jaan (Leann) Taagepera of Dunedin, Florida

Leann and I moved to Florida in June 2025, a couple weeks prior to separating from Chevron, and we are enjoying exploring our new town. Tolerating the summer humidity! Just got a golf cart – strictly speaking, not a golf cart (can’t exceed 20 mph limited streets) but a Low-Speed Vehicle complete with license plates and speed governor set to 25 mph. We can drive on streets with speed limits not exceeding 35 mph. Enjoying driving the LSV and loading the new Ford Maverick for runs to the beach and parks, etc. No regrets from the move, we’d do it again. I have remained active with ASME’s Post-Construction Committee, attended the twice-a-year Code Weeks in November and June and the ASME Pressure Vessels and Piping Division conference in July. I attended the Conference Honors and Awards Lunch where I was officially made a Fellow of ASME. Nice to get recognition
